Potting for profits – an easy and fun way to fundraise.

I am always looking for new and different ways to raise funds for the various community groups that I support. This was by far one of the easiest and fun to date. Not only was it a super gardening activity, it was also a great way to show the kids how they can help others by just thinking a little bit differently.

The kids and I decided to purchase some of our Spring Flowering Bulbs earlier in the year. We planted them out into small pots, which were kindly donated by our local Bunnings and some generous locals after a Facebook shout out. We were also lucky enough to have the bags of potting mix donated.

We ended up with over 85 individual pots after our morning of planting. These have been growing since the end of June and are now starting to show their colours and are looking glorious in full bloom. We have 2 of our local markets booked in and are heading along this weekend to sell these beauties. All money raised is being donated straight back to our community.

UPDATE: We sold all but 2 of our plants and raised over $300. This truly was a fun activity for the kids to be involved with and with the added bonus of raising funds for charity.
