Dates are rich in natural sugars which can elevate insulin levels, so moderation is important, however dates are also a rich source of fibre, calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper, sulphur and magnesium.  Almonds are rich in healthy fats, magnesium, protein and Vitamin E.  Ginger is anti-inflammatory assisting with pain and also nausea.  Mixed spice usually cinnamon, among other spices such as clove and nutmeg.  Cinnamon helps balance sugar levels which is an ideal combination with dates.
