Simone and four other mums decided on a Living Fundraisers drive to help get their grade 5/6’s off to Canberra for their school camp this year.
A dedicated group, they ordered a total of 20 carry bags including Herbs, Veggies, Flowers and Greeting Cards and sold the items at a market, to their friends and family and through Simone’s Family Day Care.
Within just two weeks they had just about sold out so put in a top order of 15 carry bags. This time round they set up a stall on Election Day where they managed to sell most items. “We were also selling water and chocolate but everyone wanted the growing kits!” laughed Simone. The kits were marketed as gifts and were a huge hit among voters. The group also had another couple of market stalls booked for any left overs.
With the camp costing around $500 per student, the money raised from the Living Fundraisers drive was a valuable contribution, and the small but committed group could not have been happier with the end result.
